On your side Shadows lie Dapple clouds Pass you by My kid believes inside every mountain There's a heart And inside the heart there's a friendship Waiting to start Let it last One day I Will also lie On my side Shallow-sigh But I believe I'll be like the mountain In your skies And you can come for comfort At my sides For all time My kid believes inside every mountain There's a heart And inside the heart there's a friendship Waiting to start Let it last
2.
If you look sad I’ll put my arms around you And say it ain’t bad It’s not perfect, but It’s a start and I’m a trier Don’t look back That’s not easy I know Look in your heart That’s what matters It’s not a question to consider Wait, you know, you’re not alone Look and see You’ll always have a little part of me If you look sad I’ll put my arms around you And say it ain’t bad It ain’t perfect, but It’s a start and I’m a trier

about

Inside Every Mountain There’s A Heart is the lead single from the new Paperback Throne album, 'Waves'. A 1970’s Nilsson-influenced arrangement drives the song forward, held together by a dreamy lyric by friends Annie Brown (9 yrs old) and Ben Brown. Ralph’s double-tracked vocals, Sylvia’s multi-layered harmonies, soaring string synthesisers and a ‘Local Hero’ esque guitar solo meant this was always the first choice as the single. It is accompanied by a stunning video by Maree Hughes, capturing the movement, feel and dreamlike quality of the song: youtu.be/eWZWDUiJ4p8.
